Nondegree students are able to enroll in CU Boulder Main Campus courses (undergraduate or graduate) throughContinuing Education. Some ACCESS students take courses for personal or professional development, while others plan to enroll in a degree program at CU Boulder in the future.

Auditors
Community members age 18 and older who aren't registered studentsare eligible to listen in on regularly scheduled lectures through the Division of Continuing Education's auditors program. For more information, visit Auditorsor contact the Division of Continuing Education at 303-492-5148.
Current Students
Current students are not eligible to audit a class; however, they may enroll in a class and change the grade mode to "No Credit Basis (Audit)." The student wouldpay tuition and be officially enrolled, but would receive a grade ofNC for the class, which does not impactGPA. To learn more about grade modes, see Edit Your Class Options.
Discontinued as of Fall 2020, the Colorado Graduate Exchange Program allowed CU Boulder graduate students to take courses at other Colorado colleges and universities without applying at the host campusand at no additional cost. The program was an agreement between the following state-supported institutions of Colorado:
- University of Colorado
- Colorado State University
- Colorado School of Mines
- University of Northern Colorado
Admitteddegree-seeking or nondegree faculty, staff and dependent studentsnotusing the tuition assistance benefit can register for classeswithoutadditional paperworkduring their assigned enrollment dates or open enrollment.
Faculty, staff and dependentswishing to use the benefit must follow CU's tuition assistance benefit process carefully.
Degree-seeking employees and dependents can register and waitlist for class(es)during their assigned enrollment dates or the open enrollment period.
- Nondegree students (employees and dependents) may have different registration windows and should consult their campus for more information.
The high school ACCESS program is intended for high school students interested in the challenge of completing college courses at CU Boulder. Students in the program earn college credit that may also be applied to high school graduation requirements. The intercampus enrollment program enables students to take a course on another CU campus if they are unable to take the course at CU Boulder. If students plan to take at least one class at CU Boulder, they are able to request to register on another CU campus as well.SeeAPS 8002for the full policy.
Host campus:For CU Boulder students, the host campusis the CU campus where you'retaking concurrent coursework (not CU Boulder).
Home campus:A CU Boulder student's home campusis CU Boulder.
Deadlines & Restrictions
Before the add/drop deadline of the host campus, a student may drop/add a class taken on another CU campus by emailing their home campus registrar's office.
After the deadline, students must secure a host campus add/drop form with the appropriate signatures and turn itin to the host campus registrar's office. After a deadline, students may be assessed W grades and full tuition and fees.
Once enrolled, students must be aware that many services at thehostcampus will not be available, because students do not pay the required fees (if any) for these services.
How to Register for Intercampus Courses
Undergraduate Students
Complete the CU Intercampus Enrollment Form and Policyobtained from the home campus registrar's office.
Email the formto the home campus registrar's office on or after April 1 for fall semester, Oct. 1 for spring semester andMarch 1 for summer semester.All undergraduate students must secure their dean's signature before turning in this form. Contact your undergraduate academic advising office to find out how to obtain this signature.
- The registrar's office will determine if space is availableand, if so, enroll the student in the requested class after students at the host campus have had the chance to enroll.
Graduate Students
Complete theCU Intercampus Enrollment Form and Policyobtained from the home campus registrar's office.
Submit the form to the home campus registrar's office on or after April 1 for fall semester, Oct. 1 for spring semester andMarch 1 for summer semester.
Students in certain graduate programs are exempt from registering at their home campus. For details, see the CU Intercampus Enrollment Form and Policy.
The student may email the completedform to the Graduate Schoolfor the dean's signature.
Check with the registrar's office for exceptions to the home-campus registration requirement and limitation on credit hours at the host campus.
The registrar's office will determine if space is availableand, if so, enroll the student in the requested class after students at the host campus have had the chance to enroll.
Registration Dates
CU Boulder'sOffice of the Registrar will register eligible CU Boulder students for classes on the host campus starting on the following date(s).
- Summer 2024: April 16, 2024
- Fall 2024: April 30, 2024
Intercampus Registration
If a student wants to take coursework on another CU campus but not go through the intercampus enrollmentprogram, they must apply for admission to that campus, follow its registration procedures, and check with the dean's office for approval. Students may apply as nondegree students or as degree-seeking students. (Students in the College of Arts and Sciences may not register at the CU Denver or UCCSexcept in the summer.)
