Rewinding No. 11 Oregon Ducks’ 49-3 loss to No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs (2024)

We were live from Mercedes-Benz Stadium for Saturday’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff game between No. 11 Oregon and No. 3 Georgia.

The Bulldogs routed Oregon 49-3 in Ducks coach Dan Lanning’s debut. Lanning was facing his former team, having served as Georgia defensive coordinator before taking over at Oregon.

Here’s a recap of how the game unfolded game.

FINAL: GEORGIA 49, OREGON 3

-- Georgia runs out the clock, and the Bulldogs win it 49-3. A rough opener for the Ducks.

-- The Ducks put together a strong drive. They will face fourth and one at the Georgia 11 after a Bulldogs timeout. The Ducks do barely pick up the first down. Oregon then gets pushed back by a delay of game penalty. Nix throws complete to Ferguson, down to the 4-yard line. On fourth and goal from the 2, Nix throws incomplete, and that sums up the day for the Ducks. Georgia keeps Oregon out of the end zone, and the Bulldogs will take over with 1:22 to play.

-- Oregon finally forces a Georgia punt. The Ducks take over at their own 11 after a fair catch.

-- The Ducks go three-and-out and punt it back to the Bulldogs, who take over at their own 29.

-- Carson Beck swings out a pass to Kendall Milton, who follows his blockers 16 yards to the end zone for the touchdown. Georgia goes up 49-3 - 14:50
